Veteran’s Preference

Incentive Pay and additional Pay (in addition to base salary):

Incentive pay: 

  • Education 4% for AA 
  • 7% for BS
  • 5% Special assignment (MCRT, Detective, Drone Coordinator or Forest Deputy) 
  • Bi-Lingual (5%)

DPSST Certification Pay:

  • 4% Intermediate Certification 
  • 7% Advanced Certification

12 Hour shift differential pay:

  • 9 hours additional pay per month while working 12 hour shifts

Paid Leave:

  • 8 hours of vacation earned monthly with increases every 5 years 
  • 8 hours of Holiday. Deputy positions will gain 8 hours per month in holiday pay that can be banked up to 80 hours or cashed out each month.
  • Personal leave & monthly sick leave.
