Roads & Bridge Maintenance and Operation

Our road and shop crew perform many activities for Polk County throughout the year., including:

• Adding rock to gravel roads and grading
• Asphalt paving and patching
• Build and maintain roadside drainage ditches
• Maintain and install culverts
• Maintain and repair bridges
• Install and maintain signs along roadways
• Mowing, brush-cutting along roadways
• Noxious weed eradication
• Snow and ice removal from the roads
• Maintain and repair County vehicles
