Roads & Bridge Maintenance and Operation

Our road and shop crews perform many activities for Polk County throughout the year including:

• Adding rock to gravel roads and grading
• Asphalt paving and patching
• Building and maintaining roadside drainage ditches
• Maintaining and installing culverts
• Maintaining and repairing bridges
• Installing and maintaining signs along roadways
• Mowing and brush-cutting along roadways
• Noxious weed eradication
• Snow and ice removal from the roads
• Maintaining and repairing County vehicles
