The Polk County Clerk's Office serves a number of important functions including:
- Administrating elections
- Preserving various records and making them available to the public
- Recording land transactions
- Issuing marriage licenses
- Property Value Appeals Board (PVAB) contact during property tax appeal period

Monday - Friday
8:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m.
1:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m.
(excluding the following holidays)
4:30 p.m. is the cut off time for issuing marriage licenses, domestic partnerships, certified copies and recording.
Applicants should complete the online marriage application prior to arriving.
Responsibilities of the Election Department:
The election department is responsible for voter registration; compilation of ballots for the regular primary, general and special county elections; conduct of election day procedures; tabulation of election day results, and certification of the election.
Responsibilities of Recording Department:
The recording department is responsible for processing and preserving documents presented for recording as public record. These documents are received over-the-counter, by mail, and through eRecording. Most records are open to the public and certified copies of most documents of record are available for a fee. Some of our records date back to mid 1800's. Included in the records are: real estate records, UCC records, and military discharges.
