April is Child Abuse Prevention Month

Polk County joins the Children and Families Commission (CFC) in participating in the annual nationwide recognition of Child Abuse Prevention Month. CASA of Polk County, Polk County Family & Community Outreach and other community partners coordinate events to increase awareness and provide education on preventing child abuse, strengthening families, and building resilience. 

On April 13, 2021 the Board of Commissioners signed Proclamation No. 21-01, in the matter of proclaiming the month of April, 2021 as Child Abuse Prevention Month.
