Hours of Operation

Welcome to the Polk County Sheriff's Office Records Division. Our office hours are Monday through Friday between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm.  The records division is responsible for several key programs at the Sheriff's Office, including maintaining the police records management system that logs just over 20,000 incidents per year, dog licensing, finger printing, processing concealed handgun licenses and other normal office functions.

Currently the office is not open to the public for walk-in help - Please call first.  We are currently accepting dog licensing requests through the mail.  We also encourage people that need civil documents served to mail them in with the appropriate fee.

Jurisdiction

If you are calling in a complaint, make sure you are calling the correct agency to save yourself some time.  The agency you need to contact will have jurisdiction where the incident actually occurred.  We handle calls outside the city limits of Dallas, Independence, and Monmouth.  We also patrol Falls City, Grand Ronde, and dog-related complaints within the city limits of West Salem.
