The Polk County Sheriff's Office assisted by other local agencies participated in a Drug Enforcement Agency Drug Take-Back Program on Saturday, September 29, 2012. Deputy Shon Latty of the Polk County Sheriff's Office put the program together, working with local law enforcement and fire departments as collection sites. Sheriff Bob Wolfe stated, "This program has been very successful and beneficial to the local community in removing unwanted prescription medications from homes and medicine cabinets."
