Safe Exchange Zone

To provide residents a safe location for private party transactions, including online purchases and for child custody transfers,  your local law enforcement agencies have created "Safe Exchange Zones" which are located at the Monmouth and Independence Police Departments and there is also a joint site between Dallas PD and the Polk County Sheriff’s Office, which is located in the parking lot of the Polk County Sheriff’s Office.  Two designated parking spots  are available at each of these locations, which are all under 24/7 video surveillance.

Schedule a Ride-Along

The Citizen Observer (Ride-Along) Program follows established guidelines for the protection of the observer. Deviation from these guidelines without the expressed consent of the host deputy is cause for immediate termination of the ride-along.

RULES OF CONDUCT:
1. All information and observations acquired by the citizen observer during the ride a long shall be considered strictly confidential unless otherwise stated by the host deputy.

Animal Bite Information/Reporting

Animal Bite Reporting is required by law (OAR 333-019-0024) for the purpose of assessing the risk of rabies exposure in a person bitten or otherwise exposed to animal saliva.
