The Polk County Sheriff's Office provides the following document for your reference and convenience. Documents are provided in Portable Document Format (.pdf). PDF versions can be viewed using Adobe Acrobat Reader. If you don't already have Acrobat installed on your  system, you may download the Adobe Acrobat Reader, which acts as a "plug-in" for your web browser, for free.

If your vehicle was towed per the request of the Sheriff's Office we require the following to obtain a release:

1) $100.00 Cash Only
2) Proof of ownership
3) Proof of current insurance on the vehicle that was towed
4) A valid driver's license or somebody with a valid driver's license

WE ARE NOW TAKING APPOINTMENTS FOR FINGERPRINTING ON A LIMITED BASIS FOR REASONS OTHER THAN OBTAINING A POLK COUNTY CONCEALED HANDGUN LICENSE (CHL appointments must go through Permitium)
