Roads & Bridge Maintenance and Operation

Our road crew performs many activities for Polk County throughout the year including:

  • Adding rock to gravel roads and grading
  • Asphalt paving and patching
  • Building and maintaining roadside drainage ditches
  • Maintaining and installing culverts
  • Maintaining and repairing bridges
  • Installing and maintaining signs along roadways
  • Mowing and brush-cutting along roadways
  • Snow and ice removal from the roads

Our shop crew works to maintain and repair all of the County's vehicles

Administration

The Administration Office supports the Director, Road Supervisor, the Shop, Survey and Engineering staff. 

The Polk County Publics Works Office:

  • Provides Polk County maps and informational brochures to visitors.
  • Provides assistance to Polk County residents, answering questions and taking road maintenance requests.
  • Provides assistance in selecting and filling out appropriate forms.
  • Processes accounts receivable and payable for the department.
  • Administers the Adopt-a-Road program.
  • Administers the Vegetation Management program.

Information Services

Information Services provides mainframe, personal computer, and network support for all County departments.

Polk County GIS provides a number of printable maps and online mapping tools for your reference and convenience.

GIS (Geographic Information Systems)

GIS (Geographic Information Systems) are computer-based tools used for mapping. These tools provide access to information for a wide variety of departments within the County.

Online Funding Request To request funding from an SI Team, a completed request form must be submitted at least one day prior to the next regularly scheduled meeting date 

Service Integration

The purpose of the Service Integration program is to facilitate collaboration among community partners to provide coordinated resources and information for individuals and families. We are agency and community partners expediting solutions by matching resources to clearly defined needs, while avoiding duplication of service. 

Expunction

ORS 419A.260 through 419A.265 provides for the removal and destruction of many police and Juvenile Court records and a written explanation of your rights. You may be eligible to have your juvenile record expunged if:

 

A. You were NEVER found within the jurisdiction of the juvenile court, and you meet ALL FIVE of these conditions:

1. You are at least 18 years old.

Emancipation

The Polk County Juvenile Department will assist you with the emancipation process.

Juvenile Traffic, Boating or Game Law Offenses

Polk County Courts has a standing order of automatic waiver of juvenile traffic, boating or game law offenses in place.
