Public Safety Operating Levy
The Request – Polk County is seeking taxpayer support and approval of an operating levy to address public safety at the November 5, 2013, general election. The request is for a not to exceed $0.60/$1,000 tax rate for a period of four years to fund and staff public safety (District Attorney, Sheriff – Patrol, Sheriff – Jail, Adult Community Corrections/Community Service, POINT (County-wide drug enforcement team), Court Security, and Juvenile services).
The Polk County Board of Commissioners would like input from the public on this important issue regarding Public Safety Issue in Polk County. Additional information will be available at the hearing.
