I. PURPOSE

The following Search and Rescue (SAR) & Recovery Plan was prepared and adopted in accordance with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) Chapter 401.573.

The purpose of the Mounted Posse is to provide Search and Rescue services with the primary emphasis on use of horses.

All of our members are Oregon State-certified for Search and Rescue (SAR).

While incarcerated at the Polk County Jail, inmates are encouraged to stay in contact with friends and family.

The Polk County Jail was completed in August of 1999 and has a capacity of 195 inmates.

The Polk County Jail is a state-of-the-art facility which is staffed by the best correctional personnel in the State.  During our first State Jail Inspection, the Polk County Jail received an overall rating of 99.8%.  This rating is a tribute to all of the hard work and dedication that the staff of the Polk County Jail constantly displays.
