Local Public Safety Coordinating Council

Polk County's Local Public Safety Coordinating Council (LPSCC) was established by Senate Bill 1145 (1995) to coordinate local criminal justice policy among affected criminal justice entities and since 2014, develop and approve their county’s Justice Reinvestment Grant program.

To carry out this mission, the LPSCC, chaired by retired judge Charles Luukinen, hold quarterly meetings. Time-limited and project-specific subcommittees also meet to work on key issues in the public safety system.
