Serving on a Polk County board, committee or commission is an excellent way to have a voice in Polk County and to learn more about how local government works. The only requirement for service is that you live or own property in Polk County. 

Public Works Surplus Property

Polk County Public Works has begun listing surplus property online at https://www.publicsurplus.com/sms/browse/home.  It is free to access for the public. Only public institutions sell their items on this site.

Please check the site for current property for sale.

Public Works is also offering concrete beams and bridge timbers that were removed from County bridges.

Polk County Public Health is only accepting clients for immunizations by appointment only. No walk-ins allowed at this time. 

 

Polk County Public Health/ Immunizations provides the following vaccines: DTap, Tdap, Td (Tetanus containing vaccines), IPV (polio), Hepatitis A & B, HIB, HPV (Human Papilloma Virus), Influenza, Meningococcal, MMR (Measles/Mumps/Rubella), Rotavirus, Varicella (Chicken Pox), and Pneumoccocal (pneumonia).

Polk County Health Assessment Report

The Polk County Health Department is pleased to present the first update to the 2009 Polk County Health Report, a compilation of key health indicators for our County. The goal of this report is to provide health data that can be used by local government and community agencies, health care providers, interested community members, and groups to help identify and better address the health needs of Polk County.
