Deflection Resources
What resources will be available?
Through the Deflection Program, you will be referred to a Polk County Behavioral Health Certified Recovery Mentor (CRM). The CRM can provide many types of support for individuals in some of the following:
- Immediate screening to determine your needs
- Assistance with same day alcohol and drug assessment
- Support with signing up for treatment groups (ex. Recovery support groups, outpatient treatment, residential referrals, OHP, detox, and harm reduction support)
- Help with navigating transportation and housing resources
- Assist you in building skills with resume writing and identifying low barrier employment opportunities
What if I don't engage in services?
If it is determined that you are ineligible or you choose not to participate in the Deflection Program, your citation will be referred to the Polk County District Attorney’s Office for filing and you will be required to appear at your scheduled court hearing date/time as identified on your citation.
*Failure to attend court will result in warrant and/or jail.
