Buena Vista Park & Boat Launch is CLOSED due to construction with no option to put in or pull out any motorized or non-motorized watercrafts. The final stages of construction are almost complete and we anticipate for the park to be open on Wednesday November 15, 2023. We appreciate everyone's patience and apologize for the inconvenience.

Polk County was awarded approximately $1.6 million in grants to fund this project. The work being completed includes repairs to the lower parking area, realignment of the boat launch, the addition of a second bathroom facility, and the addition of a floating dock.

This project was scheduled to be completed in 2022, but unfortunately the project was delayed due to unforeseen complications with our contractor. We recognize that the summer months is the high usage for the park, however because an in-water permit is required for many of the project improvements this work can only be completed between June 1st and October 15th.

Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may cause, however, we are very excited to see these much needed repairs and updates coming to the Buena Vista Park.
