Dallas Youth Garden

The Polk County Board of Commissioners are very proud to share the successes of the Dallas Youth Garden. The Board has supported this program since its inception in 2013 with supplemental funding and leadership. Through paid internships for Dallas Area High School Students, the Youth Garden has donated over 38,000 pounds of produce to multiple food programs to help feed the hungry in our community.

This program not only benefits food supply for Polk County, but also aids high school students to build a resume of employment that will help them secure careers for the future.

Thank you to the Community, the Dallas School District, Trinity Lutheran Church, The City of Dallas, the Dallas Community Foundation,  the Polk County Master Gardeners and all of the donor partners that make this a success and especially thank you to Dean and Annie Anderson for their dedication and leadership since the beginning.
