OSU Extension

In May 2010, voters approved a permanent tax rate for the creation of a 4-H, Master Gardener, Agriculture, Forestry Extension District, later known as the “Polk Extension Service District” (District). The Polk Extension Service District contracts with OSU to deliver Extension programs and related services within Polk County. The Polk County Board of Commissioners serves as the governing board of the Polk Extension Service District as directed by state statue (ORS 451.485), and is considered to be a component unit of Polk County.

Local Public Safety Coordinating Council

The Local Public Safety Coordinating Council was established under of ORS 1.851 to serve as an integrating force that might improve the coordination and quality of criminal justice services in Polk County. The duties of the Local Public Safety Coordinating Council are: (a) develop and recommend to the County Board of Commissioners a plan for use of: (A) State resources to serve the local offender population; and (B) State and local resources to serve the needs of that part of the local offender population who are at least 15 years of age and less than 18 years of age, which plan must provid

Polk County Fair Board

The Polk County Fair Board is a made up of 7 dedicated volunteers who are appointed by the Board of Commissions to run the Event Center and the Annual Fair. They are from all corners of Polk County and volunteer their time and experiences to the The Polk County Fairgrounds & Event Center. 

Their mission is to promote community interaction by providing a facility for our diverse community to use, share, grow, and enjoy.

The Polk County Fair Board meets every third Thursday of the month.
