On Friday, August 19, 2016 three new Polk County recruits graduated from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST), an academy which consisted of sixteen weeks of intense police training. The three recruits were Deputy Yumi Kong, Deputy Chris Younger, and Deputy Samuel Hatch.
Oregon law requires all occupants to use safety restraints or a child safety system appropriate for their size. Law enforcement agencies throughout Oregon will be working overtime to focus on proper safety belt use including child seat use, during a nationwide traffic enforcement “blitz” occurring day and night from Wednesday, August 15th through Sunday, September 2nd.
Polk County Sheriff’s Office – From August 22nd through September 4th Deputies from the Polk County Sheriff’s Office in conjunction with law enforcement Officers throughout Oregon will participate in the national Click It or Ticket traffic enforcement “blitz” in an effort to save lives through increased seat belt use and education.
