Polk County Fair Board Animal Welfare Policy

Considering the importance of animals to the Polk County Fair Board, it shall be the policy of the Polk County Fair Board, employees and exhibitors to treat all animals at the Fair in a humane manner. All Exhibitors shall provide animals clean bedding and adequate food and water. Fair exhibitors shall keep their animals from harm.

It shall further be the policy of the Polk County Fair Board to protect animals from mistreatment by the general public and to assure the safety of Fair patrons.

Intake is responsible for the classification and evaluation of all Justice Involved Individuals (JII) entering Polk County Community Corrections from Circuit Court, as well as transfers from other jurisdictions. Upon initial sentencing and contact with the office, all JII’s will be scheduled individually with the Caseload Specialist and will be required to fill out an extensive intake packet prior to meeting with their assigned Probation/Parole Officers.

The Reduced Supervision Caseload (RSC) is a specialized supervision program focused on low-risk offenders who have satisfied the majority of their probation conditions.  The goal of this program is to offer offenders a less restrictive environment in which to complete supervision. The program rewards positive growth and positive completion of supervision conditions.  As in all other programs, offenders are held accountable and are monitored for compliance.
