“Excellence in customer service by providing courteous, timely and professional service to the citizens of Polk County through innovation in administration of planning, building and environmental health regulations and policies in order to protect the health and safety of the citizens of the County.”

The Community Development Department is divided into the following three divisions and two programs.

Citizen Group Notification

Polk County is pleased to provide a land use application notification signup service for Polk County citizen groups. The service provides notice of Polk County land use applications and decisions to members of citizen groups in one of the seven communities within Polk County. These notices are provided via email to group members who register for this service. Registration is valid for a single calendar year. To sign up, enter your name, email address, and the community you live in.
