Thank you for your donations in honor of Sgt. Randy Whittaker

The Polk County Sheriff’s Office would like to thank everyone who contributed to our Paws for a Cause Pet supply drive and BBQ in July! We were able to raise over $1800 for the Correctional Peace Officer Foundation at our BBQ. That money will be used to help other Correctional Officers who have a need and we are grateful that you joined with us so that we can help other Correctional Officers who are in need.  It was an amazing turn out and a lot of fun.

The pet supply drive was a HUGE success as well. We made donations to the Willamette Humane Society, the Marion County Sheriff's Animal Shelter and the Department of Corrections new program in Umatilla - TRCI's Rehabilitating Offenders and Canines Program. TRCI is taking dogs from a kill shelter and placing them with inmates to be retrained to become family dogs and is run completely by donations from the public, like you.  All of the programs are great and Sgt Randy Whittaker would be so proud of these  accomplishments and they are a great way to remember Sgt. Whittaker!
