  • The Victims’ Impact Panel, Inc. (VIP) is a non-profit organization with a powerful program dedicated to reducing DUII (driving under the influence of intoxicants) related injuries and fatalities in Polk County. This program offers a unique perspective to the drinking driver, presenting in a very personal way, the far-reaching effects of the choice to drink/use and drive.

  • Polk County Mental Health & Addiction Services opened a new clinic in West Salem on January 17, 2012. Initially,  mental health services will be available for adults only, and addiction services will be available for adults and adolescents. Mental health services for children and adolescents will be added in the Spring of 2012. Contact the office for the most current information about services at this location.

  • The US Department of Justice recently awarded Polk County Mental Health and Addiction Services a grant for $303,724.00. The Second Chance Act Re-entry Grant provides services for adult offenders with co-occurring substance abuse and mental health disorders.

    School Based Therapists: Prevention, Early Intervention and Support


    In a partnership with Central School District, Dallas School District and Fall City School District, Polk County Mental Health has located Masters-level Therapists in elementary, middle, high schools and alternative schools. These School Based Therapists provide prevention and early intervention services, such as curriculum on anti-bullying, social skills, and child safety.

    Polk County Addiction Services provides outpatient treatment for the abuse of alcohol and other drugs and gambling problems. Programs are available for adults, adolescents and their families. Treatment goals consist of a trained and certified clinician assisting an individual toward an improved quality of life by assessing the needs of each individual. The clinician and individual will determine the most appropriate treatment based on the individual’s initial assessment.
