Polk County was awarded funding from The Oregon Community Foundation, Ford Family Foundation, Meyer Memorial Trust and The Collins Foundation to serve as the parent education and resource "Hub" for Polk County. As a result, Mid-Valley Parenting began in July, 2011 with the following focuses in mind:

Focus areas:

Provide coordinated services and support to families in all areas of Polk County
Increase parent's knowledge of child development and realistic expectations
Connect parents with each other to build a strong support network for families
Increase Polk County children's readiness to learn
Normalize parenting education
