Polk County Building Division

The Building Division is responsible for administering the building permit and inspection program in accordance with State building, electrical, plumbing, mechanical and manufactured dwelling setup codes. Certified inspectors supported by clerical staff perform these tasks.

• Building Permits – County and Falls City only (not Dallas, Monmouth, Independence)

• Electrical Permits – County and cities (Dallas, Monmouth, Independence), except City of Salem

There are no electrical inspections on Fridays.
